Do you offer in-person sessions? Telehealth / video appointments?
We offer in-person sessions at an office in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago, IL. The address is 2000 N Racine Ave #4800, Chicago, IL 60614. We also provide telehealth / video-based sessions via a HIPAA secure platform, Theranest.
How do I make an appointment?
To set up a free initial phone consultation, please fill out the form in the "Contact" section and a member of our team will get back to you. You can also email us at info@mccarrickmcclintock.com or call (630) 805-1219.
What are your hours?
Appointments are generally scheduled between 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Do you accept insurance?
We are in-network with BlueCross BlueShield PPO and Blue Choice plans as well as some Aetna plans. For those with other plans, a statement of services (or "superbill") can be provided to you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
Please note that anyone who uses insurance coverage for psychotherapy must be given a diagnosis, as treatment must be deemed "medically necessary." If you are concerned about your insurance company receiving information about diagnosis or treatment, we offer the option of paying for services directly ("self-pay"). We can discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each choice with you at your first visit.
What are your self-pay fees?
If you don't have an in-network plan or don't want to use your insurance, you can choose to pay out-of-pocket.
Assessment / psychotherapy intake session: $225
Psychotherapy follow-up sessions: $200 / session
All major credit cards are accepted.
Are your services confidential?
Yes, therapy services are confidential, and information can only be released with your written permission. However, there are some exceptions in which it is legally required to share information. These include if you pose a danger to yourself or others, if there is suspected child or elder abuse or neglect, and in response to a court order. See Notice of Privacy Practices and Informed Consent documents for further information.
Do you see children?
Currently, we only provide therapy to adults (at least 18 years old).
What does cognitive-behavioral therapy look like?
CBT at out clinic may involve the following components:
-
Helping you to develop goals for therapy
-
Creating a plan for reaching your goals
-
Understanding your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they impact you
-
Identifying unhelpful patterns, particularly thoughts and behaviors that contribute to mental health problems
-
Learning CBT skills for improving your mental health and quality of life
How long are your sessions and how long can I expect to be in therapy?
Our psychotherapy sessions last about 50 minutes and are ideally scheduled on a weekly or ever-other-week basis. A typical course of treatment can span anywhere from 5 to 20 sessions, depending on your treatment goals and severity of symptoms.
The No Surprises Act
The No Surprise Act went into effect on January 1, 2022. Under this law, health care providers need to give patients who do not have health insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
-
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes the cost of a single visit as well as an estimate for the average length of recurring treatment.
-
If you are not using insurance, you will be provided a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your first appointment. You can request a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an appointment.
-
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059
